Pipework Repairs | KD Drainage
Here at KD Drainage, we understand the importance of ensuring that your pipework and drainage infrastructure is free-flowing. A broken or leaking pipe cannot only be a pain to fix, but it can often be costly. All of our services are cost-efficient with competitive prices including a no call out charge.
KD Drainage offer a range of services to ensure your pipes remain flowing:
Pipe Renewal
Renewing your pipework is an excellent preventative measure in avoiding major drainage issues such as leaks and bursts, ensuring old pipes are replaced in advance. At KD Drainage, we offer our pipe renewal services with the guarantee that we can renew almost any type of water or drainage pipe including water mains, collapsed drains and the installation of new soak-aways. For more information, visit our ‘Renewing Pipe Work’ service page.
CCTV Drainage Surveys
A CCTV Drainage survey is an extensive report carried out by our drainage engineers using a drainage CCTV camera and a live feedback to inspect the inside of your pipework. CCTV surveys can identify a multitude of issues within pipework in real-time including root encroachment, cracked or broken pipes, infestation, poor installation, blockages and collapsed pipes. At KD Drainage, we offer affordable rates for our CCTV Drainage surveys, allowing you to manage your drainage costs in the most effective way. You can read more about CCTV drainage surveys including the benefits and an example of a live CCTV survey in action on our website or in our blog post.
Localised Structure Repair and Drain Relining
After an initial CCTV drainage survey has been carried out and any issues with your pipework have been identified, there are multiple courses of action that you can take. After our engineer has carried out the survey and identified the issue, they will be able to make a recommendation for the next step to take. In some circumstances, if the extent of the damaged pipework is severe, the only option necessary may be pipe excavation or, if possible, you may want to consider drain relining or localised structure repair (LSR).
Drain relining is the process of attaching a new pipe lining to the inside of an existing pipe, creating a protective layer against any future damage such as cracks or breaks. With our trenchless technology, ground excavation is unnecessary.
Localised Structure Repair (LSR), also known as ‘drain patching’ is similar to drain relining except only a small portion of the pipework undergoes repair work. At KD Drainage, we work with pipework with a diameter of 100mm to 450mm and a length of 1 metre.
Overall drain relining and LSR is a mess-free, cheaper alternative to traditional drain excavation. You can learn more about drain relining on our website or blog post. If you think LSR is more suitable, please click here or you can read our latest blog post. If in doubt, call KD Drainage today to speak directly to one of our engineers or request a viewing from an engineer.
The Method of Drain Relining and LSR
The first step in drain relining and LSR is removing and clearing any blockages from the pipe. A flexible liner impregnated with resin is pushed through the drain, whilst an airbag is also pushed through to mould the resin to the pipe. The liner is heated, and once cooled will mould exactly to the sides of the original pipe. Once the airbag is removed, it leaves behind a smooth new pipe inside the original. This method avoids the major upheaval and logistical nightmare of excavating and replacing pipes.
With KD Drainage, you can rest assured that you are in safe hands. We will manage your drainage issues and costs in the most effective way possible.
